Amy.

What is your background?

Originally from Hampshire, I moved to Sheffield for university in 2002…and haven’t left. I’ve done various interesting things including working at Highclere Castle - the real life Downton Abbey (fascinating), working at a music shop (amazing fun), and working at Sheffield Ski Village (brilliant) before starting my career as a local authority officer – data analysis, insurance and risk, and currently commissioning. Along the way I have volunteered in lots of different ways – peer mentor for students with learning disabilities, editor for a book series fan club, reading assistant at primary school, mentor for people leaving the youth offending system, and an organiser for a community archive. I am a qualified Run Leader and am training to be a Field Judge for British Athletics.

What inspires you?

How resilient and brave people are. I love the RNLI – volunteering to go out in the worst weather to help people at sea. How can you not be inspired by that?!

What is your perfect weekend?

Not getting up too early (pretty difficult with a 4 year old!), going to a National Trust property, having afternoon tea, taking the dogs for a walk and having a nap!

What is your favourite thing about Co:Create?

Working with exciting people. And the branded pink pens!

What’s your favourite movie?

Can’t name just one – Gone in 60 Seconds, The Truman Show, Grease, Enemy of the State, Primal Fear, Sister Act, Ghost World, 10 Things I Hate About You…
