What is your background?
I’ve worked in Procurement and Commissioning for 25 years, starting in private industry and then moving into the public sector. I’ve worked for Rotherham Council for over 10 years now, moving into Children’s Commissioning after the Council was put into special measures following the 2014 Jay Report. I really wanted to be part of, and contribute to, the improvement journey the Council has been on.
What inspires you?
I have met a number of experienced and dedicated managers over the last couple of years in Children’s Services at RMBC. They have been truly inspiring in their hard work and clear focus on delivering good outcomes for children and young people. I’ve learnt a lot from them in terms of “getting things done” and always keeping children at the heart of what we do.
What is your perfect weekend?
So much of life is rushing from one thing to the next. My perfect weekend is when we get chance to relax as a family and just hang out.
What is your favourite thing about Co:Create?
Treating our service users as the experts when we’re designing services. It means we get it right!
What’s your favourite TV programme?
I’m a bit of a Game of Thrones geek.
