Co:Create Programme Lead

What's your background?

Over the last 12 years I have found myself leading projects across the health and social care sector, building a portfolio career always focused on tackling inequality and trying to make the world a better place, one small project at a time! I've worked or volunteered in mental health, personalisation, breast cancer support and commissioning. Wherever I go I tend to set up new projects; innovating and making visions a reality is definitely my bag. This has ranged from setting up new counselling services, designing new services at Sheffield Mind and implementing Personal Health Budgets at Bassetlaw CCG. I've been on both sides of the table, and understand the challenges and joys of striving to improve the provision of health and social care.

What inspires you?

I am constantly inspired and fascinated by both the vulnerability and resilience of people. From breast cancer survivors, to spine injury patients, to homeless rough sleepers, I am always amazed to hear their heart-wrenching stories and witness their tenacity.

What's your perfect weekend?

Most weekends start with a trip to the community garden, growing vegetables in my local neighbourhood where the sun (almost) always shines on Common Ground. The rest of the weekend is then preferably jam-packed with a mixture of seeing friends, eating yummy food and catching up on a bit of volunteer work (my guilty pleasure is absorbing myself in an admin task - hence often having the role of minute taker!).

What is your favourite thing about Co:Create?

I love our corporate brain and how Co:Create is entirely the product of the people in the team and those we work with. I both love and hate its emergent nature and I love the lessons it's teaching me and the windy paths we are going down together.
