Transport and Travel Panel
As you might have guessed, we love everything about giving everyone a voice in Health and Social Care. We feel passionately that it’s the best way to improve services in the NHS and wider care system. We’re looking for people who agree.
Over the coming months and years there are big decisions to be made about our local health services, including your local hospital, maternity services, cancer services and others.
NHS services in South Yorkshire are going to be among the first to change the way they provide services. Though all our hospitals will stay open, some services may change location, for example to focus specialist skills and technology. This may mean travelling further in some cases.
We’re working with NHS organisations in Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield to understand the impact this will have, in advance of any changes taking place.
If this sounds like something you’d like to have your say on, we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you.
Join the Transport and Travel Panel
We’re looking for 10 volunteers from across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw to join the newly formed Panel.
The panel will meet for two-three hours every other month and will provide realistic feedback on what impact different change options would have on travel times and costs. There will be the opportunity to make suggestions and carry out research.
Meetings will be held at different locations across South Yorkshire, but we’ll cover any of your travel expenses, and if you need to arrange childcare we can help with that too.
All you need is to be open to the views of others and to have a desire to make sure people have a positive voice as the NHS adapts. You don’t need to be an expert in anything.
